Transcript: Training Your Subconscious Mind for Success
Episode #7 · · 26:46 · Listen to this episode
Jim Perron sets politics aside (mostly) to break down the psychology of positive thinking - how your subconscious mind shapes success, why "can't" is a myth, and how legends like Einstein and Abraham Lincoln trained their minds to win. Plus, a sponsor shoutout and a closing jab at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
SPEAKER A[0:00]
Welcome to The Public Perception. I'm Jim— I am Jim Perrin, your host. And if you watch the show, you know we're about political commentary and whatnot. Today I don't want to talk about politics. I'm going to take politics out of the equation tonight, okay? Even though every piece of me wants to talk about Anthony Fauci, I— maybe we'll get back to that next week, but tonight We're going to try to stay on a positive tone and see what we can do to make our lives and your lives and the people around you's lives better through, through positive thinking. And that's going to be tonight's perspective, is positive thinking. What is positive thinking? It's the emotion that keeps you focused on what you're doing. You can either be negative or positive, and There's a difference. We're going to get into that. But what have I told you? There's no such thing as negative or positive. No such thing. It's the reaction to something, an object or a situation or whatever it is. That's where the negative and the positive comes in. It's not the— it's not the situation or the object or anything. Case example: I've got a Donald Trump hat on tonight, and I wore it specifically for this reason. Let's say I'm out in public and I run across a woman who says she sees the hat and it triggers her, and she's got TDS maybe real bad, and she says, "Oh, you're a fascist racist Nazi pig." See, that's a negative reaction. That is actually a negative reaction. Same situation, I'm out and a guy walks by, he's a Trump supporter, and he says, oh hey, I really like your hat, that's a nice hat. See, that's a positive reaction. Now I'm not getting political, don't get me wrong, we're not going to talk about politics tonight. I'm talking about the psychological thing that goes on in your brain that makes you either positive or negative. See, it's not the hat. The hat has no emotion whatsoever, has zero. It's an object. It has zero emotion. It is your response to it. Your response when you see a hat like that is either negative or positive. And that's the same in every situation we, we go through in life. So let's, let's delve into that a little bit because Now let's say you're gonna start a new business or new career, or you have a great idea. Some of you want— might want to hear— not hear this, but the first thing we do when we have an idea like that is we go to our friends and our family. Of course, they're the ones who love us, they're the ones who support us, they're the ones who are behind us. They're, they're friends and family. They're the best of the best in our eyes. But so many of them have a little bit of envy, and they'll tell you things like, oh, you— that sounds like a good idea, but, but, oh, that's going to cost a lot of money, or, but you really might want to rethink that because that's a lot of hard work, or, but that, that sound— that idea is never going to work. So See, and they don't even know they're doing it. They don't mean to do it, and I'm sure they don't mean to do it because they're friends and family. They love you. But the point is, is that they, even though they don't mean to do it, they're, they're casting a little bit of doubt in your mind, and, and it goes in your subconscious mind, which is the powerful part of your mind. We have a conscious mind, we have a subconscious mind, and the subconscious mind is the, is the one who believes in, in— doesn't have any emotion, it— which we'll get into a little bit later. But now all the rest is just nonsense, just chatter, excess chatter, and you need to learn to block that out, even from family and friends. You need to get and get around people who are like-minded, who are positive thinking, who believe in you truly, whether it's friends or family, whatever. It doesn't matter. If you have an idea and a goal and a dream, you need to be able to pursue it without listening to the excess chatter. You have to block that out, get it out of your mind. Like, we all know For example, the guy who's a big bully and he's always— he's the toughest guy in the block and he's, he's a tough guy and blah blah blah blah. And we all know women who have to have the last word. Some might say that's every woman, but the point is that's all just chatter and you need to block that out. The, the guy— real men don't have to sit and talk about how tough they are or how badass they are, okay? They don't have to talk about that stuff because they, they, they're comfortable with their own masculinity. It's the bullies on the playground who spout this crap and this stuff. One thing you'll notice though, they don't never pick on people like Daniel Penney. I don't know if you know who he is, but some of you do, or Pete Hexeth or Tyrus. Big guy from Fox News. They don't ever pick on those guys. No, no, they pick on elderly old men. They pick on women and children. That's what they do because they, they're, they're phonies when it comes right down to it. So you need to block all that out and think what you can do to better yourselves and not listen to all that what I call white noise or chatter. So anyway, that they— like the bully, he might think he's impressing somebody, okay? He's not impressing any of the guys out there. We're laughing at him. He might— he might intimidate some of the weaker guys out there. He might intimidate, and he might also think that he's impressing women. Okay, now women— some women might be impressed. I don't know. I'm not a woman. I can't speak to that. And unless I'm thrown in prison, I'm never going to identify as one. Okay, the point is that— you made me laugh. That was great. The point is, your success might not be somebody else's success. Your success could be someone— someone else might have a totally different feeling of success, and that's okay. That's not a bad thing because success is defined in many different ways. And to someone to say, oh, I gotta have a million dollars— some might say, I just want a family and a farm and to grow my own vegetables and have a couple horses. That might be their success. And success is defined by yourself. What it comes down to is believing in yourself when no one else does, regardless of what other people think of you, regardless of what your circumstances are. If you believe in yourself when no one else believes, and you achieve whatever goal you have in mind That is success, and that is the truest success. When you know in your heart, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. When you cut the grass, you feel like, oh, I got that all done. That's a, a feeling of accomplishment, a feeling that you accomplished, you did something that, that's a, that's a goal you set up for yourself, and That's, that's an inner self-confidence that comes with that, and everybody should experience that because that is the true definition of success— when you feel proud of yourself for who you are and for what you've done. So I, I can't talk enough about the, the naysayers out there who have all their blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. We go on social media and we all think we need instant gratification because we're— that's the problem with society today. People need instant gratification. It's not instant. It takes hard work and sacrifice, and you can achieve anything you want to in the— in this world. And if you don't believe that, you're wrong because positive thinking works. And, and when we come back, I'm going to take a little break. It's just a short segment, but I'm going to come back and we're going to delve into the meat and potatoes section of the, of positive thinking and the psychological part, the brain part and the subconscious mind, because subconscious mind and conscious mind are real, whether you believe it or not. You can actually train your subconscious mind, and I'll tell you some ways how to when we come back. So right now, it's been a quick segment, I understand that. We're going to go to break, and I want to point out before we go to break that everybody out there listening, if you keep an open mind and a positive mind, you'll, you'll succeed. So when we come back, but First, I want to talk about our sponsor, Patriot Mobile, and that's the last time I'm gonna talk about them in— until the future. But because we're picking up a bunch of new sponsors, but you're going to watch their commercial and we'll be right back after the break.

Like I said, we were talking about positive thinking. We're getting away from politics tonight and What you need to do is— when I talk about positive thinking, the subconscious mind, we have to eliminate the chatter. We have to block out all that negativity. And because people don't mean to be negative, they just— some things we are. And there's so much negativity going on about there, we really need to block that out and to think positive. And try to think the best of ourselves, the best of people, the best of the world, and always look for the brighter side. As they say, the glass half full instead of half empty. And that really is the crux of it. For example, Albert Einstein— everybody knows who Albert Einstein is. They always criticize him because he wore the same suit every day. Wear the same suit every day, man, that must get terribly smelly. Must be terrible to wear the same clothes every single day. What they don't tell you is Albert Einstein had 7 suits. They were all identical. He had 7 of them, one for each day, okay? And they asked him about it one time and his peculiarity toward the suits and why he only dressed like that. And he said, I wake up every morning, and why should I worry about what shirt to put on, what pants to put on, what goes with this, what goes with that? I get up every day and I get dressed. I don't clutter my mind with that excess chatter that's in my mind. He said, I don't have to worry about it. I don't have to think about it. Where most people get up every day and they wonder what they're going to wear and that kind of thing. Einstein's— he believed that wearing, just getting dressed, was what it was all about, and he could focus on other things to achieve his goals. Okay, and he learned how to train his mind into positive thinking. That's how he was able to accomplish so much. And see, I knew a guy, and his name is Jack Stoffel. Smartest man I ever met. He was a multi-millionaire, and I worked for him for— back in the '70s, in the late '70s into the early '80s. He, he trained his mind so much. See, the man didn't like coffee. He hated coffee. So When people would say, would you like some coffee? Instead of saying no, because see, the subconscious mind registers that as a negative. Instead of saying no because he didn't like coffee, would you like some coffee, sir? He would say, sure, maybe a little bit later. See, the subconscious mind understands that's a positive response. And the subconscious mind doesn't know right from wrong. It doesn't know positive from negative. It doesn't know reality. It doesn't know anything. It lives on emotion. And all your emotions going through you, like, there's positive emotions and negative emotions. Like, love, hope, faith are positive emotions. Anger, hate, fear— those are negative. Envy, jealousy— those are negative emotions. And the subconscious mind doesn't know reality. It does not. That's what your conscious mind is for. That's what's got us talking here today, is the conscious mind. The subconscious mind is listening. It is listening and learning. Even when you sleep, it is listening and learning all the time. It is your very inner thoughts. That's your subconscious mind. They say we only use 10 or 15% of our brains. I don't know, I'm not a scientist and I'm not going to get into that, but I do know we don't use 100% of our minds. I know that for a fact. But they're not talking about the conscious mind, they're talking about the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the powerful one. It is the one who can make you successful or unsuccessful depending on your responses, like we talked about, positive or negative. It can be trained to work for you, or it can be trained to work against you. If you're around a bunch of people who are negative and always pessimistic and your chances are you're not going to be successful. So you want to surround yourself with people who are successful, who are positive, who have a good outlook on life, who believe that they can achieve, and you can achieve also anything you, you put your mind to. See, for years and years, since the beginning of man— and I'm sorry since the beginning of humans, men and women, there's been many thousands and thousands of cases where— take the internet for example. 2,000 years ago, if you'd have said, oh, I'm going to do the internet, they would have laughed at you. What are you, insane? They would have put you in a mental institution if they even had them back then. I don't know. But what I'm saying is, if what the human mind can conceive— in other words, imagine and believe, and actually believe it in their mind— you can achieve it. In time, over the history of mankind, it is proven to be a fact that whatever the human mind can conceive and believe, it will and can achieve. And that's the subconscious part of your mind that can be trained and taught to be successful. You just have to block out all the chatter, all the unbelievable noise, and you got to keep up hard work and persistence. I had another guy, a friend of mine, Bill Dunn was his name, and he was also a multimillionaire and He told me one time, he said, 'Jim, untie your tennis shoe.' I said, 'What?' He said, 'Untie your tennis shoe,' because I was having a struggle with something. I said, 'I can't do that.' I said, 'Can't.' And he said, 'Untie your tennis shoe.' So I did. He said, 'Now go ahead and try to tie your shoe.' I had no problem. I tied my shoe, no problem. And But see, the point is, his point was that the word can't never tried, and that's just a fact. Can't never tried. So if you try to do something and you don't succeed at it, you try again and you try again. I promise you, no matter how many times you fail If you continue with a strong desire and determination, I promise you, you will achieve— one day you will tie that shoe. You will achieve the outcome you're looking for, the positive outcome. You can accomplish anything in life if you put the work in, if you go ahead and sacrifice and train your mind to set one goal and have a burning desire and the determination to reach that goal and put that forward, and you'll be successful in anything you want to do. So it's not in Jedi mind trick or anything like that. It takes hard work. It takes a lot of concentration and hard work and Surround— like I said earlier, surrounding your people, you're around people with like-minded people who have your same interests, who— people who truly believe in you. And like I said, sometimes it's not always your family. Sometimes they, sad to say, are envious and may not have your best interests in mind because they didn't have the idea or they didn't make the career change or whatever. But you need to surround yourself— and if it's family, that's fine— but surround yourself with like-minded people, people who believe in you. And most importantly, like I said, you have to believe in yourself regardless. Now, as far as succeeding in life, like I said already, the Different people have different options or ideas in their brain of success, and again, that's good and fine. Too many people though, especially the ones who are doubters and have negative thoughts that creep into their subconscious mind, they're afraid of success. Now people say, tell me, there's no such thing as afraid of success. Everybody wants to be successful. That's silly. Everybody wants a million dollars. Sure, we all do, but it's not about that. It's about the negative impulses in your brain that say, I can't achieve this because— and if you come across an opportunity, and like a business opportunity or an opportunity to go to a better school, or an opportunity to, to find a better, uh, your soulmate, or whatever it is. You cannot be afraid to succeed. And what that means is you— so many people, we're all the same. We're all— we all fear rejection. The human— it's our human nature. I don't care what you say. People say 'Oh, it doesn't bother me what other people think.' That's a load of crap. You're lying to yourself. Everybody cares what other people think of them. It's like if 10 people are invited to a party and there's 11— you're the 11th person and you're the only one not invited— it hurts your feelings. And don't tell me it doesn't, because you're a liar. You're lying to yourself though. You're not lying to anyone else. You're lying to yourself. So that's the part I'm talking about, the, the being afraid to succeed, because you have to put yourself out there. Abraham Lincoln ran for office dozens of times and lost. He kept going, obviously, because he became president, the 16th president of the United States, and everybody knows his name now. And that was a long time ago. But we still always know his name because he didn't give up. He believed in himself, and he wasn't afraid to fail. Wasn't afraid to put himself out there. See, especially what I talked about a little earlier, today's social media— we, we're all looking for instant gratification, and we don't want to fail. We want clicks. We don't want haters. We— it's human nature. And I get that, but don't be afraid to put yourself out there and take a chance. If you believe in something, take a chance. But most importantly, no matter what anybody tells you, believe in yourself because you can do whatever you want to do if you put your mind to it. And that, that is true. It's been true all along.. And this country— and you can do it anywhere in the world, but this country gives you the most opportunity with the freedoms we have in this country to go ahead and achieve your dreams and your goals. And just by believing in yourself and not listening to all the excess chatter and clutter that's out there. I'm going to go ahead and end it there. And I said I wasn't going to talk about politics, but I'm going to say one, one little thing. My shout-out section tonight goes to Tim Walz, the governor of the great state of Minnesota. And he recently pardoned an illegal immigrant, an illegal alien, who raped a little 10 or 12-year-old girl. Okay, so I want to ask Tim, and I don't know if my viewers want to know, but I want to know, if your daughter Hope— he has a daughter named Hope, and she's 25 years old today. And would he be— if she was raped by an illegal immigrant, would he be so quick to give him a pardon, a governor's pardon in the state of Minnesota? I don't think so. And if he says any different, he is total hypocrite, phony. He's a piece of crap, okay? So just, Tim, think about that for a second. What makes you think your daughter is more important than another little girl that was raped by an illegal immigrant who you say just had a bad day? Had a bad day? What about the girl? I think she had a pretty bad day herself. So don't give us the crap about Trump's blah blah blah, but you got TDS. And it's sad because there's no way you pardon the kid— the guy who raped your daughter. There's no way you do. Just be honest about it. And so I'm going to end that tonight. Go ahead, and I hope we had a good conversation. And go ahead and check us out on Spotify, soon to be Rumble. I'm pretty sure we're working on that. True Social and YouTube. And be sure to follow us on Facebook. And please go to our website. And to keep the show going, please just pledge. It's as little as $8 a month to go ahead and help keep the show going, to keep— that's 27 cents. I think I figured out 27 cents a day. And to keep the show going and keep fighting communism and keep Open Mind in this going. God bless everybody for listening, and we'll see you next week. Thanks.
