Transcript: The Three Ps: Party, Person, Policy

Welcome to Public Perspective. I'm Jim Perrin, your host. And if you watch the show, you know, we try— we're a political show, we're a political commentary, but we try to make it informative. We try to speak the truth when we can, when we have the facts, and we try to make it a little entertaining at the same time. And we talk about politics mostly, but we get into sports. We get in— there's going to be some future ones that get into history and entertainment and and whatnot. But politics, it'll always come back to, because politics is weaved into every, every fabric of our, of our lives. Politics plays a role in just about everything. So anyway, I just wanted to say that. And, and tonight I want to go ahead and, uh, tonight's perspective, I want to talk about the voters and voting and particularly the legal citizens who vote in this country. Everybody, if you watch this show, you know how I feel about illegal immigrants and illegal aliens voting in our elections. You already know how I feel about that. But I want to talk about the legal voters. I'm going to go ahead and steal a line from the late Alex Trebek. If you, some of you don't know who he is, he was Jeopardy and he, he was Canadian, by the way. But he did a commercial for an insurance company, and he always talked about the 3 Ps. Well, I'm gonna steal a line from tonight, and I'm going to talk about voting, and I'm going to steal it. I'm going to say voting is about the 3 Ps. First, there's party, then there's person, and then there's policy. So the first group of voters is the people that They vote for party. Doesn't matter if they're Republican or Democrat, doesn't matter. They don't care about the candidate, the policies. They don't— they could care less. They vote Democrat just to vote Democrat. Republicans vote Republican just to vote Republican. To me, they're the stupidest people that walk among us. They're the dumb ones that shouldn't even be voting. But they're— you're entitled to vote however you want, but Again, they're, they're the most uninformed people, the ones who just vote Democrat or the ones who just vote Republican on both sides of the aisle. It happens on both sides. I'm not criticizing one way or the other. And then there's the second group. The second group votes for the person, and nothing wrong with that. The character matters. I'll, I'll, I'll give them that. Character does matter. Integrity Maybe he's a good communicator, makes good eye contact, good— they, they like the guy, they trust the guy, they trust the girl, the candidate. That's fine, you can vote that way too. All right, and then there's the, uh, the final group. They, they vote for policy, and they still may be Republican or Democrat, they still might like or dislike the candidate, but they vote for policies. What, what's the policies that, that the candidate stands for? What he or she is going to do better? What's going to make my life better? What's going to make my state better, my city better, make my country better, make the— make us better? What are those policies? Substance matters in some of these things. And like, when I, I'm in the, the latter group, I, I kind of vote for policy. Even though, in full disclosure, I vote Republican most all the time because it happens— I'm conservative and it happens to align with my conservative beliefs. I, I align with the Republican candidates more, more often than not because I, I agree with their values and their values are my values. So, and there's nothing wrong with that if those are your values and you no matter which way you vote. That's, that's the important thing. Um, I don't always just— I, I don't always agree with, with all the Republicans. I don't agree with Donald a lot of times. He says things, and, and I didn't agree with Lindsey Graham, for example. He said things I didn't agree with. And I, uh, I want to say, I want to give my condolences to Lindsey Graham and his family. Um, it saddened me a lot when I heard about his sudden passing. So I wanted to go ahead and give him a little shout out and love to the, uh, friends and family of Lindsey Graham. And, but back to Donald Trump, I, I disagree with him on some of the things on the war. Uh, I, I particularly disagree with his tweets. A lot of his tweets are stupid. Everybody knows that, even his most loyal supporters, and I'm a loyal supporter. Even his most loyal supporters don't like some of his tweets. He, he can call me. He knows he can call me. He can contact me on Truth Social. Donnie, you can call me anytime. I'll run these by me and we will— I'll tell you which ones you should tweet on Truth Social and which ones you should kind of hold off on every now and then. And I want to give a little mention also to I have a— I have Democrat friends and I get along with. I go, I frequent a bar, go to a Vikings fan club, and, and he's a Democrat and we get along good. We have robust conversation, but we don't— we, we respect each other. And I also know independents, and I want to— that's the little group I want to talk about, the independents. I don't know where they're at. Um, I, I have some people who claim to be independents. Okay, they're independents, but all the ones I know seem to vote— they're liberal Democrats. But I think what they're doing is having a little cover so they can say, 'I'm independent,' so they can criticize Donald Trump. And then when they vote for a guy like Joe Biden and everything goes to hell, and they can say, 'Well, I'm not a Democrat. They don't take any culpability. They don't take any responsibility. They, they— it's not, not my fault. Um, I think that's a lot of the independents, and, and I think they should get on one side or the other because no independent has ever won an election. No, no one's ever— no independent's ever going to lose or win or even come close to winning an election. So, um, That, that's just something I wanted to put out there. Now, as far as the voting goes, like I said, I— you can disagree. If I was in Kentucky, I would, uh, I wouldn't vote for Rand Paul. He's a Republican. I wouldn't vote for him in a million years. Don't like the guy. I don't like his character. I don't like his personality. I don't like the guy. I don't like his policies. So I wouldn't vote for him. Um, I'm not sure I'd vote against the Republicans, being truthful. But I wouldn't show up at the— if it was just— I was voting for him in a general, I might not even show up and cast a vote, to be honest. So you can have your opinions and all that kind of stuff. But I want to talk a little bit about what's on the ballot. Coming up in November. We can either choose to keep our republic and our country as we know it, or we can go down a dark road, in my opinion, um, voting for communists, voting for socialism. Let's, let's, let's go ahead. There's going to be maybe a dozen or so that get in. They're going to get into Congress. They're going to be behind enemy lines as far as I'm concerned, and like a Trojan horse, and they're going to get in and they're going to go ahead and, and do what they can to undermine this country. So, um, we've got a decision to make there. Now, democracy is, uh, is a, is a thing, and they always say, uh, Donald Trump, he, he He's destroying democracy and he's destroying the Constitution. Well, see, the founders believed in capitalism. Capitalism creates wealth, individual wealth. It creates independence is what it does. There's free-thinking people. See, socialists or communists, the exact opposite. They're not— you're not— there's no free thinking. You groupthink or you don't think at all. You groupthink. There's no independent. And they don't like the middle class because the middle class is self-sufficient. They support themselves. They don't need the government. See, socialism and communism need people to need the government. They need it. Anything else, they, they, they can't, they can't handle it. That's why all the Republicans say For example, in New York City, Zoran Mondame, he's gonna, um, attack all the, the rich people. He's— what, he's driving them out? All the Republicans say, what an idiot, he's driving out his tax base. They're all leaving, they're leaving in droves, all the wealthy people. Where's he going to get the money to give all this free stuff away? He's really stupid. How stupid is it? Well, they're right about one thing, um, the money is leaving. Okay, but I don't— I've got another, another perspective, if you will, another angle on this, another thought. Maybe he's not so dumb. Maybe he's really smart. Because see, when he runs out the millionaires and the billionaires, when he runs them all out of the state, they're the ones who produce all the jobs. They're the ones who make The— they have companies, they manufacture all the goods and services. They're the ones who do all that. When they leave, it's going to be a big huge void. Who's gonna— who's gonna fill that void? I'll tell you who. Zoran Mondami and the New York Kathy Hochul. The government is going to assume that responsibility and they're going to destroy the middle class, anybody who's left. Until they got everybody out of there except all the people who don't have the means to get out of there. Then those people are dependent on the government, and that's what they want. Then they control that area, and they're going to move it on and on and on till it spreads across the country, and eventually they're going to take over. Now, you're never going to take over the rich people. That's why That's why they don't mind running them out, because Elon Musk, you're not— he has too much, too much money and power. Your money is power. You're never going to control him. They know that. Jeff Bezos, Zuckerberg, you're not going to control those people. There's, there's no way. They're never going to be dependent on the government. They're never going to need the government. The government needs them actually more than they, they need the government. So, um, that, that's this stuff's never happened, gonna happen. So I think Mondami is, uh, is probably proceeding well as planned during to the socialist playbook, I believe. Um, I could be wrong, that's just my opinion. But anyway, the, the founders thought we should, um, the Constitution, when they— there's a little thing in there in our Constitution called— we are born, all born with certain inalienable rights. Okay, they talk about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The first one's life, the right to life. What does that mean? To me, it means we have the right to live. We have the right to defend ourselves. We have the right to defend our families by force if necessary. But we have the right to do that. We have the right to defend our property. We have the right to defend our possessions. That's, that's our God-given right on this country. And, and that's what they founded this country on, are those inalienable rights that God gave us. We're all created equal, and God gave us those rights, not government. They never did. God gave us those rights. That's what I think it means. And then liberty. What's liberty? Liberty is freedom. Yeah, we have the right to be born free and live free, as long as we don't do anything to harm people and do anything— we go about our business. We, we live in a free society. America is a free country, I hope forever. But see, the thing is A lot of people don't understand that these freedoms that we have here in America, they don't extend across the world. They don't extend in some of these other countries. They just don't. That's, that's a cold hard truth. They do not exist in a lot of countries. Not like here, not like, not like this. Not Canada, not even Canada, who's a free country, but not, not near is free is the, the freedoms that we, we enjoy daily in this country. Okay, now there's the last one, and that's the pursuit of happiness. What the hell does that mean, pursuit of happiness? No one can define it. Well, I think the founders— and I agree with, with how I think, um, why wouldn't I think how— agree with how I think? But The point is, that's funny. Um, the point is, uh, the pursuit of happiness to me means that you have the right in this country to be born and to chase any dream. Or I have some people in the audience laughing. I have a little studio audience here and some of them are giggling a little bit, making me laugh a little bit. I'll get back on focus. Um, some of the, um the, the, the liberties, um, in the pursuit of happiness we have is to go ahead and pursue any dreams or any adventures or whatever we want. We can choose any profession. That's the American dream. We can, you know, back in the day when you, if a little girl was born and her mother was a dressmaker, chances are she became a dressmaker. It's not like that anymore. People can think for themselves. They can In this country, you can dream whatever dream you want to be. If you want to be this, be that, be this, you can dream and do whatever you want to do. Anything that makes you think you'll be successful and makes you be happy and satisfies you, your dreams and your destiny, what you believe that you can do. So that's what I think the pursuit of happiness means. Now, that's again just my opinion and conjecture. But, um, you think about that and, and, um, talk, call into the show or, or email us and let us know. So, um, which brings me to the last point. Like I said, these, um, the, the communists wants— they, they want like all these— they give away all these free things and they always criticize Donald Trump. He's a dictator and he's this and that and They have these No Kings rallies. You ever seen those? They crack me up. No kings, okay? So, but yet they, they want to go ahead and destroy the middle class and control everything and stuff. What a bunch of hypocrites, all right? The thing about socialism— Zoran Mondami and, and a bunch of others, AOC and Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren now has got into it, and Um, heck, there's a JD Pritzker in Chicago. Um, there's Ro Khanna out in California. Ever— you ever hear of that guy? He became a multi-millionaire when he said I do. You know why? Because his wife's daddy was worth millions of dollars. So he was just a poor idiot. He's never done anything in his life. He's a weasel. He just said I do and became a multi-millionaire. Now he wants to tax the rich. And so I, I noticed one thing about all these people though. They don't mind taxing the rich and taking all their money and taking their businesses and seizing their property. And but it's— they want to come from my, for my business, for my money? Wait a minute, wait a minute, Bernie Sanders. You got 3 houses. How about you go first? How about you give all your money? Oh no, they don't want to give their money. They want your money. They want your property. They don't want to give their property, their money. No, no, no, no. Socialism, you, you use other people's money. That's the way it works. You don't use your own. That's silly, stupid. Um, that's, that's just the, the crux of it. And that's the last thing I'm going to say about that. Um, and, um, we're going to go to break in a minute. And I want to go ahead and, um, give a shout out to one of our sponsors, Patriot Mobile. Welcome back to the Perspective. And, um, like I said, I'm— after the, the break, I wanted to talk about the conflict, the war, you want to call it either one, over in whatever you think, over in Iran. It looks like our president, President Trump, has finally figured out that these people cannot, cannot be negotiated with. They don't do anything in good faith whatsoever. They just can't be negotiated. Now, to me, there's 3 choices he has. Choice number 1 is to bomb the hell out of them, take their bridges, and just bomb the heck out of them until, until they got nothing left. The other one is to bomb them a little bit, then talk to them, then bomb them a little bit, then talk to them. That could go on for 5 years, and nobody wants— not even his most loyal supporters want a forever war. I'll promise you that. I don't. And then there's the other way. We could just go ahead and pack up and tuck tail and get back here and worry about whatever. Then they'd claim victory, and all the Democrats and the media and would just have a big celebration because Donald Trump ran away. And so to me, there's only one choice, and that's bomb them into oblivion. And I'm talking about take all their bridges, take their electrical grid, all their power plants. I know it sounds harsh, sounds cold, But these people are never going to negotiate. Never. Take Karg Island and put it in the Persian Gulf, sink it to the bottom. That— keep the embargo on, keep the strait open, freeze their assets, and choke them out economy— economically. And their economy's already going to hell. And do that And I think you— then you can go ahead and come back here and focus on— I mean, don't get me wrong, leave the Navy over there to keep this strait open and make sure that ships get a free passage, but you've got to get back here mentally and concentrate on the economy because that's what's going to decide the midterms. People don't want to see the forever war, so get out of there. But you also have to fix this economy. Oil just surged for— to over $100 a barrel again just, just a couple days ago, and that means gas prices are going to spike and go up. And, and believe me, people are feeling it. And that causes other prices to go up at the grocery store and all kinds of different goods because everything gets shipped by truck and and whatnot these days. Or, you know, even the DoorDash people put gas in their car, okay? So believe me, it transfers down, it trickles down into every single thing that we have. So you need to— President Trump needs to fix this economy if we have any chance in the midterms. And believe believe me, it's an important midterms because it means controlling Congress. It means controlling the House of Representatives and the Senate, and we need to keep control of it or there's going to be, like I said, impeachment after impeachment, and it's going to be a circus. All right, so what, what we need to do is to finish the job over there, get back here, and focus on the economy. And that, that to me is the, the main thing, because a lot of young people think that there's such a wealth gap. They think the American dream is dead. What you need to do, Mr. President, is bring— inflation is down and the economy is doing actually pretty well other than the gas prices and stuff. People don't report that, but, but it actually The GDP and everything is actually doing pretty well, um, but that's— that message messaging isn't getting out there to, to the everyday person. So you need to do a little better job on that. But most importantly, you need to bring down— uh, inflation is down, but you need to bring down the interest rates. I don't know what's going on there exactly. You're afraid it'll cause inflation, or I don't know. I'm not an economist, but I do know that you need to bring those numbers down. So the interest rates have got to come down so people can afford to buy a house. The young people in this country believe that the American dream is still alive, that they can buy a home, they can be a first-time homeowner, and make it affordable. Do something on affordable housing. All right, those are the things that you need to get back here and focus on. Those are the things that, that are going to win back the, the Congress and, and the Senate and keep, keep the American dream alive. That's what you need to do, because the alternative to not winning these is, is, is dire. Believe me, there's no, there's no such thing as all these freedoms that they're— that the Democrats are offering. They just don't exist. So you need to convey that, especially to the young people in this country, that they do have a chance. They can succeed. They can make it. But you got to make it. You got to help them. You got to make it affordable for them. You got to help them. And let him see that capitalism does work. Capitalism does work. It is good. It makes us independent of government, independent of anybody. When we support ourselves and our families, we don't answer to anybody. We pay our taxes, we do our dues, we do our thing, but we're independent and we're We're successful because of ourselves, not because of a handout, not because of anybody else. Something a little bit about dignity in that. People used to care about dignity. They kind of got lost in this country lately, but dignity and character still matter. So something about cutting the grass, you feel good about when you're done. You feel good. Look what I did. It's an accomplishment. Same thing with the job. When you get up and go to your 9 to 5, whatever you do, you get your paycheck, you, you feel like, you feel like a, you've accomplished something. You feel useful. You feel like a productive member of society, and you are. So that needs to be rung across, especially to the young group who, who spends way too much time on their phones and social media. I mean So I'm going to end it there tonight.
